So I'm sitting here at my desk and I'm actually reading a big part of these 1990 pages of new laws that the Republican/Democrat Regime in power are trying to pass in the name of "health care reform". I got very scared about this part of the bill I stumbled onto when I got to page 1391 (and no, I haven't read every single page...but I am reading a lot of it). On that page, the bill starts to describe a new program called the "No child left unimmunized against influenza" program.
Say wha???
You read further and the Republican/Democrat Regime calls it a "demonstration program using elementary and secondary schools as influenza vaccination centers."
They say it's "voluntary" for now...but for how long will be voluntary if they intend to make sure that EVERY SINGLE CHILD IN THE COUNTRY GETS IMMUNIZED as the program's title says?
Is that what I'm being taxed to pay for? Does this have any place in a bill that's supposed to be about the health care reform that this country so badly needs?
Yes, you can read the bill too by going to the very latest proposal here:
Link to H.R. 3962 - Affordable Health Care for America Act as Introduced.
I'm going to be talking about this tonight on Happy Hour and I'd love to know what you guys think about this. You okay with it? You scared by it? You confused? Talk to me.
I'm new to this site. I checked it out after Obama tried to close them down. From these comments, it is easy to tell who the actual Fox audience is as opposed to those that leave comments just to refute Fox's reporting.
"You have appealed to both segments of the Fox audience..." Sounds like more obama propaganda. Plus, if there are only 2 segments which one do you fall into? Or are you a '3rd segment' that doesn't belong here?
Save your drama for obama. He doesn't deserve a capital letter

I love the fact that your are covering this and I'm very opinionated, but what bothers me about the system healthcare bill or not, is that when speaking to people that are experts, 'not one' person can help. The problem with healthcare and the new bill gurantees more confusion. When a 62 year old lady says to a medicaid what your telling me is that I would have much rather died, because no one is helping with the system. Then you have a problem. Because it really happened yesterday to me.

Give me a break. For 2 yrs. in a row my family got the flu shot and we were all sick on and off all winter long so then we stopped getting them and on average we get 1 cold or 1 flu per person throughout the season. I will admit we dont sanatize everything or use those bottles of hand sanitizers like lotion as we believe some germs are good for you. Yes some vaccinations are a good idea but the choices should be made by those who know the peoples medical history like parents and family doctors.

Cody, I use to think you might be out of your mind, but over the past several months I'm beginning to believe you maybe one of a few people left with a mind.

With over 600 Billion per year in estimated Medicare Fraud, why doesn't the government hire 100 thousand unemployed at $35,000.00 / year with all the government benefits, and train those newly unemployed to investigate all this fraud.
Hiring would cost 3.5 billion, with benefits, another 3.5 billion, so total cost would come in at 7 billion, and if all 100 thousand employees saved as low as 100 billion of the 600 billion in fraud, we'd all be ahead and heath care would be paid.

You are clearly just looking for the next "death panels" issue. I like clever scare tactic of saying, "it's voluntary FOR NOW." DUH-DUH-DUHHHH! You have appealed to both segments of the Fox audience: the conspiracy theorists who fear forced immunizations, as well as the tea-party folks who do not want their tax dollars going toward anything that might improve the welfare of their fellow citizens. Well done.

I'm more worried about a post office style treatment at the doctors office than this. The banks pretended to fight against the FED being formed, now I think we are seeing the same thing go down for health care.
Why try and compete in a free market when you can just ask the government to pay you. Works out great for big buisiness who already have our elected officials ear who can in turn force us to pay through taxes.

Actually, vaccinations being req'd by schools is a state mandate, not federal. What' being introduced here would appear to be an annual influenza requirement.
Most troubling is, just as HR3200, it's designed to drive people from group health plans to gov't option. Pg 91, Sec.202 discussed existing plans. You may remain in yours unless the plan has any changes in benefits/conditions (lines 21-26), Most plans chg annually to address new drugs, procedures, etc.

actully, this is nothing new schools have been doing this for years now, you cant even enter a public school without all of the necessary shots, so they send nurses to schools to get the kids caught up that dont have proper documentation

I can't help but see this for what it must be. Our out of control Government making a very buried attempt to take medical decisions out of the hands of parents.
Yes, kids have been required for years to recieve certain vaccinations to attend public schools, but at the same time those situations were all very life threatening or crippling diseases. This is the flu we are talking about, and a vaccine that is rushed to production every year under somewhat suspect Federal oversight.

I am not so worried about this because it in theory will prevent more expensive illnesses. I also don't mind getting vaccingated, nor do I mind my kids getting faccinated. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. And with hospitals being required to treat the uninsured, maybe my insurance costs will go down in the long run by this mandate as people don't like to spend money on things that are not fun. I hate it, but do it voluntarily, but many others dont
