I hope humanity makes it past the unnecessary divide on nationalism, I mean, race, gender, socio-economic ? do we REALLY need any more France jokes ? Once people have an 'image' of humanity to meditate on, reach for, build for, live for ? And isn't it the species that moves on ? I mean ? isn't THAT ? PROBABLY? closer to eternal life ? (remember species is dynamic and changes, which really makes it simply life) Once people have that - they have it through the internet, global media share, TWO ways, text for the left brain, image and video for the right, and auditory ? They have it these very DAYS economically ? I think they'll start to seek it politically. I just look for trends, higher the viewpoint the better, until of course, you go so far out, you're having to use a new model (e.g. zoom out from the earth, and far enough, you'll go, oh, I see, there is this formal system of a galaxy I see now, that I had no idea we were totally part of). Trend I see is feudalism replaced nationalism, I see globalism replacing nationalism. This solves TWO big nasties for the kids Nuclear weapons are of NO use without nation states to use them against each other, as there is no 'other', second, terrorism just disappears, no more nation state ? no more big red X, and no more selling fear to get that 5 year mortgage you just knew you'd never be able to afford, and thanks to fearing the world was ending as promoted ? You took the mortgage and - well Good things come out of bad. Breaking the financial system in the US is critical and necessary to progress fully to globalism, because the nation state of the US can't decouple until the global economy is finalized. So, THERE is the bright side to the sub prime mess. It's going to bring about a more unified global economy, and nationalism THIS time will follow I think to match on progressing to globalism. Humanity is ready to see itself isn't it ? Now, just imagine how useless all that time was spent on red and blue, even purple, really, to talk about purple ? you're INVITING RED AND BLUE to the party, as secondary colors are not atomic, merely the presence of two or more primaries. Just imagine instead of dividing ? we united. Hmm.. The Divided States of America that's where I live right now. I'm not looking to see it united, I'm reaching for the BIG prize We need to defuse use of nuclear weapons, NOT by deterrence - that's for people UNDER 157 IQ. We need to move on from nationalism, that removes nuclear weapons AND terrorists. In time, we'll have what we'll have eh ? And all we can say to that complacency is - could it have been any other way when we look in the mirror collectively as humanity ?

For many ? Through inherited culture? This world IS the afterlife release program, only stepping stone to the next. Personally, I'd say that such a person is psychotic, that is, a danger to self and others. Question is ? how do we civilly change that ? My best offering is education, more avenues to education. Had some guests over ? they didn't know how to read, had never heard of a web browser, these people were 25 and up. They are locked out of ever moving forward, unless education is rampant. But before that ? I'd say if jobs is the most critical aspect to an economy of a nation state ? we need AGGRESSIVE education access - and promotion to those that would never seek it. We don't need the military recruiters out there, we need University recruiters ! Odd, such a position doesn't exist unless it's for football or sports at a Univ. RARELY academic. and the kind of academic recruiter I'm talking about doesn't seek the 150 IQ'ers or 1400 on SAT'ers, I want to see them seek those who can't read. If language is critical for a society ? then society should place #1 priority on language skills. Without communication ? the media show's over.

All this bailing out makes me really analyze my upbringing. Maybe my parents steered me in the wrong direction. I'm really serious. Maybe my dad didn't have the vision to realize that morality would be on the losing end in this modern world. This is a valid argument. Irresponsible immoral behavior wins in society in manner cases now, especially financially, really. Do we parent different? If you were to explain this situation to your kids, I mean really, how would you do it? How would you justify the recent bailouts? Does this alter the way we raise our kids if we want them to win at life? Everyone gets bailed out now, this has social consequences that far extend the current dollars. Socialism may be the only way after this move. Immoral Wall Street guys can't lose and look at their quality of life, it's awesome. Life without risk of failure is pretty comfortable.

A Capitalist, you must be suffering from wishful thinking. Liberty and freedom as a political policy has to come from a third choice. That choice is building ever so slowly through Ron Paul and his Campaign for Liberty, however we probably need an economic crisis to move it forward in a manner satisfactory to most readers of this blog. The odds of this are getting better with every intervention and Obama is promising several more. 6500 on the Dow looks like a reasonable target. Let's just hope the crisis produces liberty not a command society. It will up to us to make the choice.

You are exactly right, these politicians are all the same, good cop/bad cop, they both work for the same bosses,have the same agenda,and see the masses as simply a bunch of Joes.

I don't mind if various sports stars make that kind of money as long as it is not subsidized by public funds (tax dollars), i.e. building a new stadium, or funneling money indirectly to the owners through preferred monopoly status or some other means. Of course it's the same status quo. It's big government and I fear it's going to be self-perpetuating. Democrat policy = Big Government to help the little guy at the expense of the producer. Republican policy = Big Government to help the corporation (Wall Street Bailout) at the expense of the little guy. Neither scenario is good. The public has tried big gov't republican style and didn't like it. Now the public is going to try big gov't democrat style, and I'll guess they won't like it. I just hope that after trying both and both failing abysmally, the public will figure out that they have more than just 2 choices, or that 1 of the 2 parties will change their policies to limited gov't.

Considering even most of the best football players are done with their career when they hit 30, some may make it to 35 bouncing from team to team or in very rare cases like Brett Favre make it almost to 40. Thats a pretty short window to make a lifetimes worth. The contracts are a bit out of control but these guys are at signicant risk of their career ending due t injury, without a lot of guarenteed money.
