Some Heads Are Gonna Roll: Bernanke, Paulson, Bank Execs, SEC and FDIC People and the Incumbents

You can look to the left and look to the right
But you will live in danger tonite
When the enemy comes he will never be heard
He'll blow your mind and not say a word

If the man with the power
    Can't keep it under control
    Some heads are gonna roll
    Some heads are gonna roll

The power-mad freaks who are ruling the earth
Will show little they think you're worth
With animal lust they'll devour your life
And slice your word to bits like a knife

If the man with the power
    Can't keep it under control
    Some heads are gonna roll
    Some heads are gonna roll

Know what it's like when you're taken for granted
there goes your life, it's so underhanded
If the man with the power
    Can't keep it under control
Some heads are gonna roll - Judas Priest

I want some heads to roll. As our markets and economy implode around us, here's a few characters we all need to get fired.

    * Fire Ben Bernanke. I mean, Paulson's sorta a bad ass, in a Putin kinda way, and at least he's decisive and brings some gravitas to his moves. Evil as Paulson's moves are, that is. But Bernanke's polices aren't just as evil as Paulson's...Bernanke always seems way in over his head and scared about everything around him. The media touts this guy as if he's got a clue about how to stop this major economic downturn that's inevitable simply because he's written a bunch of papers and studied how Japan and the US policy makers screwed things up for their citizens during the Lost Decade and the Great Depression. Gimme a break. If anything, it's like the guys' self-actualizing a Great Depression 2.0 simply because he got convinced by Illuminati bad ass Paulson that if they didn't together create a trillion dollars of out thin air and give it to Paulson's Illuminati best friends at the major banks in this country and overseas that Ben would be remembered as a sitting duck Fed chief. Egos, power and cronyism over principles.

And today's move of printing dollars and giving them to any major corporation that's borrowing money in the commercial paper market is about as sneaky a way of shifting wealth from savers and renters to the richest corporations in the world if there ever were one.

    * Fire Hank Paulson. I don't call him Hank Putin for nothing. How long before -- in the name of helping the consumer, the little guy -- he's deemed more than 70% of our banking system to be "government agents" in the same way Putin created one energy company with 70% (and more) of Russia's energy system? This stuff is the epitome of cronyism and thuggery.

    * Fire every executive and board member on every single investment bank and commercial bank that's either lobbied and begged for and/or received a single dollar of tax payer assistance, loan, subsidy or taxbreak in the last ten years. Such a purge of the system would certainly be a better way of getting confidence back into the system than redistributing a trillion dollars out of the private market to these very guys who should be fired by the guys in Washington...who should also be fired.

    * I plead with all of you to vote out EVERY SINGLE INCUMBENT WHO VOTED FOR THE TARP Bailout. They heard the overwhelming consensus from their hard-working, non-lobbying, non-donating little guy constituents who were vehemently opposed to this unconstitutional redistribution of wealth and resetting of our entire banking system, whose rules we'd followed thinking the rules mattered. Don't hesitate. Vote independent if you can, but regardless vote for the challenger if your incumbent of any party voted this bill through. No excuse for Democrats who say they want to help the little guy to have passed this bill that punishes the little guy in favor of the corporation. And there's no excuse for Republicans who say they believe in free markets and small government to have passed this bill that destroyed any semblance of a free market in banking and creates huge government. VOTE 'EM OUT!

    * Fire every SEC executive and FDIC executive. They've been asleep at the job of protecting us. Which really means their only job was to protect the sanctity of contract. All they do now is explain how they can break the sanctity of contracts in order to "protect us". Changing laws midstream ain't protection. It's another form of coercion.

    * And how come the presidential candidates are getting a free pass on their fighting for this TARP bill?  Raise hell!  Don't vote for these guys if they don't represent your voice!

I'm sure I'll come up with others. Who do you think we need to fight to have fired first?

Pat

I am as frustrated as everyone else. We have become a nation that rewards people for failure and lack of ambition. We have a government riddled with unlawful acts on both sides of the aisle. Lobbyists are a major spoke in the Washington wheel. Where does it stop? Both presidential candidates received contributions from Fannie Mae. CEO's are awarded millions in severance while their stock holders are dying on the vine. The average 401K is down 38% and falling. Spin and deception have replaced honest answers from our elected officals and the news media. Americans can't get the truth anymore and middle America and small business are the engine trying to push this mess uphill. Suggestion: 1. Let's see someone produce a bill that will allow an elected offical to serve one term only. This eliminates the opportunity for graft/influence and payoffs to get reelected. This defeats the argument our representatives need more time. Look where our career politicians have led us over the past twenty years. 2. let's begin investigating how we arrived at this point. Look into the activities of the political and private sector players that brought down the most powerful financial system in the world. Find them, document their role in this mess and where appropriate, prosecute them and send them to prison where they belong. 3. Let's form a movement and hold our representatives to a higher standard. How you ask? We will initiate a tax revolt and cut off the gas that runs this engine that is totally out of control. 3. Remember, these massive payouts to CEO's are with money you and I invested in these companies because we foolishly believed they were looking out for their clients. Lies and greed are the rules of the day. Once a few of these criminals (politicians and CEO's) go to jail, maybe we can minimize the bleeding a bit.

Rob (Veteran USAF)

You are partially right Rusty. The American people certainly have been asleep at the wheel. The problem is that we have been lied to for so long that no politician can be trusted, even the very few who are trying to do right by the American people. The only politician I see in Washington that is making any sense and voting no for all of this nonsense is Ron Paul. I don't agree with all of his views, but returning the country to a Constitutional Republic and his economic views are right on the mark. Every one write Ron Paul in on their ballot for President. Try to find members of the Constitutional party that are running for other congressional seats and vote for them as well. If the folks stuck in the 2 party system see that we are finally tired of both parties being lackeys of the corporate elite and banking elite, they might finally get the hint that it's time to stop shredding our Constitution and start obeying their oath of office to defend and protect the laws and rights that our forefathers laid down within it's wonderful pages. I agree with Cody as well. We need to fire and put every one of these corporate greed monsters on trial. Seize their computers, documents, bank records, etc. and find out exactly to whom they gave money and campaign contributions. After that, they check out the bank accounts of the politicians who voted "yes" to the bailout of the corporations. The fact that the market continues to drop is a reaction of the government "taking over" the private banking system of America. Vote 'em out, try 'em in court, and lock the jail doors on them for the rest of their lives. Seize all of their money that they stole from the taxpayer and put it back into the system. Leave them penniless!

Why ? would CountryWide not subject to CRA USE CRA software ? tsk tsk - someone screwed up REAL bad on this one. Head role ? no, I'll settle for heads and some lengthy prison terms All gods work though with Pat Robertsons Monica Goodling making sure the 'right' people were hired for the Department of Justice though ? Lord only KNOWS the damage that jeebushwhacking girl did at the DOJ it will come through the FBI - and what few are left at SEC that aren't afraid to come forward on the last SEC chair to step down, cough, and current ! Fleecing. Remember people - Vote End Times in 2008 ! It's the future for the kids ! and by all means - protect the unborn, we need someone to pay for all of this.

Cody I have no doubt that one of your close personal friends of long time let's say within a 350 mile radius of where you are can tell you ALL about CountryWide's excessive use to find low income areas. We've not even started the criminal proceedings on this yet.

Hillbilly #9423456

You didn't go high enough up. And it's not just that - it's those who KNOWINGLY tried to exploit low low rates - finding suckers at every turn to just sign on the line - and walk out with that new shiny black luxury SUV to really shove it to the neighbors. CW is guilty as sin here. I just learned that CountryWide utilized CRA to actually FIND the low income areas. This is NOT in the press. That's just a part of it though. That's some nice fodder for prosecution. Seems Cavuto is the only other style writer I see who uses single lines as if talking to people - I get cut on for that, and yet ? isn't it ? talking to ? with people here ? FBN lacks the forum structure of its parent corps offerings as with MarketWatch however, this is here. Just writing to say - ALL in all - Palin's church confirms we live in end times, Bush won't formally address it which is worrying. I ask - what kind of lifestyle changes economically would someone make who thinks it is end times ? shoving out useless mortgages to low income areas where people will sign sign sign and sign some more to reflect Andie McDowell's line in GroundHog Day. Heads to roll though... Is not the issue to me. I'd just settle for some heads. What I intuit is Savings and Loan part TWO. Full scale spook factor using Fox News as mouthpiece to make sure everyone is absolutely hopeless - I mean, what business does Fox News have quoting Dick Cheney post 9.11 saying "Terrorists will detonate a nuclear device in a US city eventually" Wow - hey kids, come on in, I got something you can look forward to. Kids ? No, he's our vice president, don't be afraid... Either way - CW dumped these stink bombs out the window of their fast car as their father lived out a drinking problem as if in a song - They did have a fast car. And you know what ? US tax payers are going to have to take care of him. What people don't see coming is citi falls - BAC acquires - maybe joint assistance from the newly qualifying Goldman Sachs ! BAM Western civilization makes a wrong turn. It is a crime that in light that we DO live in a global economy, anyone would promote the use or potential use of nuclear weapons, for any reason, let alone some fly by night model of nationalism that not to long ago replaced feudalism, and globalism will replace nationalism - to children. What is it worth ? stealing the innocence of a child ? programming them terrorism is anything but the coat tail shadow of nationalism, it's own polar by-product. Way I see it, world markets will take hits and repairs locally, G8 skimps on the third world, I don't expect much for the first world. Chances are ? it's always been the case we're in deep black space, going around a sun, and there is no first OR third world - just people - which ideally ? and realistically ? I'd hope we can all go long on ! Don't short humanity. Short the model of nationalism if you want, you'll probably clean up. We ALL know the signs of fiat collapse - don't we ? even if that comes in 2013 - the last year of the 5 year ARM's that - wow - anyone even REALIZE ? October 1, 2008 was the BEGINNING of the no money down, no interest stink bags. and here on the 7th ? JUST 1 week in wow the deep impact from this fleecing - and I say fleecing - again, NOT in the news - CountryWide surpassed the nations largest banks USE of CRA analytics. Going to take JUST a bit of digging but you'll find it - not in print ! heh get on the phone ! CW did this with intent. it is criminal. BAC now has CW- BAC is criminal for what it's about to do. fail and get boo boo fixer from the new 700 Club ! Paulson's private 700 billion fund - according to the debates last night ? MATCHES Iraq spending. Except this 700 club was 'signed in by emergency' HA and still Good luck baby boomers. to date 20% of your retirement is lost to white collar criminals who attempted savings and loan part II. No redneck is this smart (Blair Witch) Cody - I'll cap this with - I've questioned your general freakness - I'd GUESS you went to a few dead shows - all in all - you seem to be a genuinely good person. My take on money is - it's a societal tool - not to be exploited, and after Jacob Needleman - I do say - I understand that money IS backed by a common shared belief and faith, perhaps more common than any one religion interestingly enough. So, to that, at 40, I live as if money ? can not be pocketed. All I'd be pocketing is the communities common shared belief, or the integrity of such a culture. Which is just silly now isn't it ! The earth turns, we miss meteor today ! least it's not 1996 - click the monkey on the money tree ! now it's what monkey rendered 700 billion necessary NOW - while extracting 700 billion for games in the desert to which ? Who cares about - what is this Red Dawn ? that loser movie ? How far can the terrorist model sell It's going to be an interesting SNL this week with Palin on terror and Obama.

I agree heads should roll. "Off with their heads!" Anyone with common sense would have, should have, noticed something was going very very wrong when Bear Stearns went under. For Paulson etc. to say the economy was fine, and it was "isolated" showed ignorance indeed. Go independent, vote for those who aren't the incumburant. Oh, and when the Fed takes control of these banks, they should immediately hack away the CEO's and executives servance pay, etc. Run your company into the ground while personally gaining millions, good, you can have your "trust fund" cut off.

Cody, 1. President Bush, VP Cheney, and the Cabinet - http://impeachment.kucinich.us/petition/ 2. Bernanke - www.endthefed.us 3. Paulson - replace on interim basis with Ron Paul 4. IRS Commissioner - replace with Peter Schiff - http://truthattack.org/ 5. Casone - replace with Glenn Beck 6. Eric - replace with Jonathan 7. Herman Cain (of the Herman Cain Show) - actually said on his talk show tonight that the 95% of people against the bailout did not know enough about the true danger to make an informed decision 8. Ray Appen - publisher of Appen Newspapers - took 3 GA Congressmen to task for listening to their constituents - claimimg Georgians are hurting and need government help(an opinion that no self-respecting Georgian would ever hold) Vote 3rd Party this November - http://votethirdparty.us/ Keep the pressure on, Cody. We are all out here doing the same out here! Don't know enough about finance to comment on those topics, but sniffing out tyranny and authoritarianism - well, right up my alley.

I tried to watch the so called debate tonight but quickly lost interest when McCain suggested writing down mortgages with our money and appointing Warren Buffet as the Treasury Secretary. To make matters worse, Obama agreed. Very simply, the action is in the House of Representatives. 268 of them voted for this bailout. Firing them will send a message that we do not want socialism. With this signal, our new president will be impotent and maybe a coalition of libertarian thinkers will emerge in leadership roles. Folks, the anger is out there. Education is direly needed but fortunately it is not needed to know that the current situation in DC is wrong, illegal, and immoral.

Sorry Cody, I agree with your sentiments, but in reality we can't kick out everyone who voted for the bill. There are a lot of heads that need to roll, but lets use a little more judgement than that. Also, how exactly has the FDIC been responsible? Problems in the Banks that they are responsible for can and will be handled by them. Are you confusing "Investment Banks", Fanny Mae, Freddy Mac and AIG Insurance with FDIC insured Banks? I like your passion but lets zero in in a little more on the targets. If we could get rid of Barney Franks, Chris Dowd and a few others like Charley Rangel, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid we would have a good start. Of course there are many others to add to the list, but many otherwise good legislators voted in error for this bill and they will regret it.

We have no one to blame but ourselves. Those politicians in Washington are put there buy the people and we simply can't seem to get them out of there because we don't care. It seems that when people are working and can pay there bills they don't follow what is going on back in the Country of Washington D.C. I say to all, vote for anyone but the incumbent. Write yourself in or someone you know that will go to Washington and make some noise.

October 7, 2008 at 11:09 pm

alexandria seaborne

Cody, I think we should fire every incumbent becuase this happened on their watch, not because they voted or didn't vote. Secondly, I think for you and the other market zelics out there who vest all their faith in an imaginary being, you are all ridiculous. Where were the economist when the crisis was coming, they weren't in front of congress, they weren't on tv. They are just as clueless. There is a oomplete differene from theory and application. I'd rather have a man who can apply than one who sits and talks about what happens in theory.

Holy sht, I never thought I'd see an article like this on FOX or any other mainstream site. You are right about who's heads need to roll... and because you are right, you need to watch your 6.

Cody - Keep up the great work. I've agreed with two people through all of this - you and Ron Paul. Ron Paul endorses Chuck Baldwin for president. Both men have written and spoken extensively about the bailout and would fire more of these illuminati-loving pariahs than any other presidential choice. I was at the soccer field this past weekend and it sounded like folks were ready to vote out the incumbents. I hope they follow through and turn dc on its side. As for democrats and republicans - there is not a dime of difference between them. The debate is on as I write this and both candidates are saying the same things...just using different words. Get rid of em!

Cody, Is it too late for a 3rd party candiate similar to Ross Perot. One that can get some press so people can hear of someone who understands what this countries problems are and how to fix. I thought the 1/2 hour specials Ross Perot did with his own money was great!! Thanks!! I want heads to roll too!! I have my list of all who voted for this Bail Out. I am voting against them!!

October 7, 2008 at 9:10 pm

Ted Pert

There was no reason to have this bailout or whatever they chose to call it,people can see what it is to help wall street and the big banks get bigger. I would fire everyone of them involved and don't know where to begin Bush would be first because it was under his watch this has happened . Everyone circumvented the law the law was in the books they did not abide by it. Heads would roll one after another i am sure that in a nation of over 300 million now we can find some very smart, responsible, responsive, people to run this country. We know that the two party system ran this country to the ground and got paid in the process very well paid i might add. In one word " incompetent" people are running the government that is the reason we are in this mess!!!

Cody...new fan here! Love your use of lyrics. I think this fits as well... by Mark Heard Oh the sun runs its course from the east to the west With the best of our motives illumined Then it sinks with a sigh in the dusk of the heart And our virtue lies worthless as rumour You can be what you like if you like what you are We reflect but the sum of our creeds But we don't seem to seize on the tenets we hold And they slip through the sieve of our deeds When we see our mistakes we ache with regret And the pain makes a lasting impression But we are stoics at heart when the time is at hand To beat our breasts and make a true confession

Cody, I must admit that initially I assessed that you were a "dweeb", now I'm leaning to pure capitialist and all around good guy with heart in the right place. You'll be wrong at times and right on others (including in the future) but seems your narratives are what you believe is right for America, better known as conviction without overwhelming bias towards your own self survival or politically or "wall street" correct. Thanks, don't let "them" pressure you to a policically correct position or voice, I would rather hear your convictions right or wrong rather than a slant to what is self interest only. Printing and infaltion with our sights on the next 10-50 years is more vitally important to us all than the immediate political cover and short term pandering. Thank you!

It won't matter now. The money is gone. Education is required to maintain a free society and both the economy and education have been preempted by the Left. Just as the standards in economic regulations and institutions have been lowered so have standards in education. Since the Depression (first one) the Left has dominated institutions of higher learning which no longer educate, but politicize. Students are presented with whatever dogmatic view of the world is in fashion and they dutifully regurgiate it on demand. Well today they are regurgitating Keynes all over the market. Maybe during the next 10 yrs while all of us sink into a morass of grim socialistic poverty, maybe some people will read some books and maybe vote for ideas instead of candidates and slogans.

The first to fire is Paulson a no brainer for sure then Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Bernanke and the management team of AIG. And if we are really going to clean up why not legal procedding against the head of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae?

October 7, 2008 at 7:10 pm

I vote Paulson then Bernanke.. they started this fear 'end of the world game'!

People should have listened to the people at mises.org and lewrockwell.com who PREDICTED the collapse of the housing market years ago! Ben Bernanke denied the existence of a "housing bubble" in 2005 Here's proof: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/26/AR2005102602255.html You should buy gold and silver or immediately go into t-bills before you get out of the dollar.

Frank Taylor

In addition to the people you are firing I say fire the Democrat and Republican parties. I am so tired of picking the lesser of two evils and agreeing with neither one. We need a real third party leader to come from the private sector. How about you?

October 7, 2008 at 6:27 pm

Steve

I agree that all of those whom you have mentioned should be fired and in some cases put into prison. I also believe that Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Shumer and Harry Reid should be forced out of office for their apparent complicity with Freddie and Fannie. I'd really love to see any of them in handcuffs. Don't forget that Barney Frank oversees not only the tax code which he apparantly violated (Failing to report income) he also has/had oversight into Freddie and Fannie. He has been on the finance committee for many years but he did not warn the public of the pending financial disaster at Freddie of Fannie. He also was having an affair with one of the executive men at one of those institutions. I also agree that regardless of your party affiliation, if your representative voted for this bailout that person does not deserve your vote. There is plenty of blame to go around but that does not mean that we the taxpayers should sit idely by. Get out and vote! Make you voices heard. It is good to see that someone (Cody) is speaking out. Keep up the good work.

October 7, 2008 at 6:15 pm

Annette

I hear you loud and clear, Cody, and sympathize with each and every sentiment....but are you not forgetting something here? The old saying AS ABOVE SO BELOW, or that people always get the governance (government) they deserve, the macrocosm in the microcosm, or something along those lines? Where does the belief come from that a fairy godfather sits up there on Mount Olympus with a little halo around the head, blissfully sprinkling good governance, wise rules, benevolent edicts upon the minions? While the multitudes clustered thickly at the base of Mount Olympus wave smoke and mirrors and big wads of cash, and a fair chunk of the little people in the hinterlands are busy trying to make a fast buck, just like their neighbors, by hook or crook? - In India, they say we live in the age of Kali, Kali Yuga. It is all related. Nothing will change until each person looks deep into their heart and soul and honestly assesses how they have partaken in this mess, and takes responsibility for his/her actions. Only then can others be held responsible with a glimmer of hope that things will change. We need to invent a whole new paradigm for living. Peace, Cody.
