The Big 3: Destruction, Jedi, and Peyton Manning
By Cody Willard
Here’s what I was looking back at in the back of my own mind today:
1. Capital Destruction
2. Jedi Master Trade
3. Let Peyton Pay for It
1. People keep asking where the money from stocks, gold, oil, and what not keeps going. I think people are missing the point – when virtuous cycles of capital creation turn to vicious cycles of capital destruction…the market value of assets just disappears.
2. Straight from my jedi master, James Altucher — Buying the Dow every time the unemployment rate hits 6% and selling six months later had the following result: 42 occurrences since World War II, 33 successes (80%), with an average return of 6.57% during the six-month period
3. The Indianapolis Colts are using Peyton Manning to help calm angry taxpayers who are upset that they paid $600 million for the new Indie stadium while the Colts paid only $100 million. Ironically, or not, the Colts agreed to pay, yes, Peyton Manning himself $100 million in 2004. Tell me again why I’m being forced to pay his salary?

hi cody:
ive have read your commentary on the street.com and i currently subscribe to your monthly letter, great suff. im looking for a home currently and im shocked by how many times CNBC contributors or others keep calling a housing bottom. here’s my thinking how can we be close to a bottom when rates are still in spitting distance of historic lows. what happens when the fed raises rates and it will happen? maybe not this year, maybe not next year but it will happen we cant keep rates this low permanently. isnt this inevitable and then wont housing prices go into another down leg? or am i sniffing glue and too bearish? your thoughts are always appreciated.
thx

I want to see a post on the total discrediting of the mainstream media. How will this affect the way people get their news over the next few years? And is there a profitable way to play it?

Cody, Look at the LONG ECONOMIC cycles which control the long stock market cycles:
Every three generations there is a complete economic cycle in the Western world, this is true for the last 429 years.
The first generation lives through an economic depression and puts their money in the matress.
Their offspring take some money from the mattress and the economy starts to heat up.
The third generation (Baby Boomers) starts with a good economy and over speculate plus max out debt and the economy tanks.
Please verify this yourself…………
